Hi - I’m Alice and I am currently working at New Look Head Office as a Junior Visual Merchandising Manager. My role is to ensure a commercial and on brand shopping experience is achieved and communicated to all stores. Following and maintaining VM principles and best practise in and around stores. My role includes window displays, styling, VM, instore displays, photography, social, product selections, project work, new store openings and POS. I work closely with the buying and merchandising teams and in this job role I can truly say ‘you name it, I’ve done it!’.

I have always had a creative flare and adored fashion since a young age. Visual merchandising has really allowed me to unleash my true passion and potential. I could honestly never imagine myself in any other career and thoroughly enjoy what I do.

I’ve been lucky enough to have been given some amazing opportunities within my previous roles. I have worked at Arcadia and Debenhams, as well as high end brands, that include adult and childrenswear. Working with a variety of different retailers has made me very open minded to different working environments, ideas and customers.

I successfully opened Debenhams in Melbourne which was the first Debenhams to launch in Australia. I also opened the ‘stores of the future’ in Stevenage, Watford, Wolverhampton Meadowhall and Leicester from the ground up! I was extremely grateful to be invited to the retail display awards two years running, where we were nominated for the ‘Best Flagship Christmas Window’.

Highly experienced in Creative Cloud programmes - Photoshop, Indesign and Illustrator.  I am also able to use all Microsoft programmes.

I went travelling in September 2019 for 6 months and arrived home and worked for Dorothy Perkins, Miss Selfridge and Burton as an Area Visual Manager. Sadly, the pandemic happened and all retail was shut. In 2020 I put my spare time and interest into working on a family business. I have helped to plan, design and launch an online business. I am very grateful for this opportunity and have learnt so much!

For more in depth information about my social media skills, I have an ‘Added Talent’ tab on the site, where I showcase my social skills further.

With 2020 being a very uncertain year at the beginning of the pandemic, I became an NHS First Responder. With this, I started to volunteer throughout the months helping the elderly and vulnerable. I would be alerted on an App in the radius near me to help people in need of assistance (shopping, pharmacy pick ups etc). I befriended Leslie, an 100 year old man who I still stay in contact with and who it was a pleasure to help. On top of that I worked with ‘We C U 2020’, a beauty campaign charity delivering and packing beauty products to NHS workers. My house became a storage warehouse and I travelled all over London delivering packages to our key workers.

I was featured in The Sun in an article in May 2020 and have attached the article and photos below. This was an amazing campaign and I was highly grateful to be a part of it.
